On the edge of the island, built in
1964 as the first such bridge in Turkey, this bridge connects Alibey Island and Lale. Lale Island and the mainland are connected with the bridge, which was built in place of the filling road built in 1817.

The majority of the population
comes from the island of Crete and the island of Lesvos who returned during the migration exchange between Turkey and Greece. Therefore, most of the older population of the island can
speak Greek

You can reach our island with
your private vehicle or with passenger boats. The boats depart every 30 minutes. You can also easily reach the island by public transportation, the so-called slow buses, which depart from the center of Ayvalık every 5 minutes
